Liverpool-linked Jeremie Frimpong has revealed when he will most definitely be in the UK.
It is no longer news that Frimpong is set to sign for Liverpool this summer, with DaveCOKOP leading in the reporting of the defender’s imminent move to the red side of Merseyside.
We were the first to exclusively reveal that the club were aware of the nature of Frimpong’s release clause at Bayer Leverkusen and were attracted by his relatively cheap price.
We also confirmed talks between Liverpool and the player, and the news that Arne Slot spoke to his compatriot about a move to the English champions.
Last Saturday, we also broke the news that Liverpool have reached a full agreement to sign the Dutch right-back from Bayer Leverkusen, marking a major move as the club prepares for life after Trent Alexander-Arnold.
That was followed up by our report that Frimpong had passed the first part of his Liverpool medical?
With that formality completed, the Dutchman will join the club once he has signed his contract that will secure his time at Anfield until 2030.
With Frimpong to Liverpool all but set, Reds fans are already beginning to envision the 24-year-old in a Liverpool kit. The Dutchman has enjoyed a stellar spell in Germany, playing a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal double last season.
Over 190 appearances, he has contributed 30 goals and 44 assists.
There is no doubt that Liverpool is getting a great player.
While we await the official announcements from Liverpool and Leverkusen, Frimpong has revealed when he will be in the UK.
Taking to Instagram, the 24-year-old announced that he will be in the UK on June 22nd for a football tournament he is organising for players aged 15-22.
The Dutchman’s foundation, Join Pathways, is partnering with New Balance, of which he is an ambassador, to organise a footballing event that will take place in four nations and cities, including Manchester in the UK.
The event and job fair seeks to help young talented players play matches, meet scouts and agents, and also link with brands.
The event is set to be held in Germany (Cologne), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), the UK (Manchester) and Ghana (Accra).
“I’ve got something exciting for you guys!” he announced on Instagram, alongside a promo video.
“With my foundation @joinpathways we’ve created a unique event experience that combines football and career opportunities with some help from @newbalancefootball.?
